Gérard Bertrand is one of the most outstanding winemakers in the South of France, where he owns numerous estates among the most prestigious crus of Languedoc Roussillon.
Twenty years of know-how ensures that wines bearing Gérard Bertrand’s signature have a unique style driven each day by four fundamental values: excellence, authenticity, conviviality and innovation.
The vines The vineyard is situated on the banks of the Thau lake, between the scrubland and the sea, where the vines are grown in limestone soils. The Mediterranean climate tempers the daily temperature swings, with the sea breeze cooling the heat of the day and the mass of water of the lake, acting as a thermal reservoir to offset the drop in temperature at night. The vines yield 55 hectolitres per hectare.
The grapes are hand-picked and pressed directly. All the handling is carried out under carbon dioxide protection in order to preserve the delicate aromas of the Grenache, until the start of the fermentation carried out at low temperature (15 to 18°C). The wine is matured on its fine lees for several weeks before being bottled.
